Bio

I first learned to crochet when I was 16 and newly married. My husband and I went trolling for salmon with his parents. I was bored and my mother-in-law offered to teach me to crochet. I jumped at the chance as I had tried to make a square dishcloth in Girl Guides when I was 12 and it turned out as a triangle, so I had not had much luck with my first crochet attempt. Out fishing at 16, I learned how to make a granny square, which eventually turned into a large, square, pink and purple afghan (this was the 70's after all!)

Several years later, I made up my first pattern because I wanted to make a sweater for my daughter and I couldn't read the crochet patterns. Finally, I taught myself to read patterns by reading Crochet World magazine. After my son was born, I designed a square sampler baby afghan and figured out how to write up the instructions. The pattern sold to Crochet World and I haven't stopped designing since.
