Mike Poole has been making beads for more than five years, working in his studio in the Pennine region of the North of England. He has been featured in Beadwork Magazine and various UK publicastions. He travels extensively across the UK to sell his handmade beads at bead fairs. Mike also offers tuition in beadmaking in his studio which is located in a converted cotton mill. In addition to courses in his studio, Mike travels regularly to teach beadmaking and demonstrate historic beadmaking. He was invited to present a two-day display called 'Precious Objects of Desire' at the National Museum of Wales on historic beads and their construction.
Mike was also one of the guest artists invited to demonstrate his beadmaking skills at the very successful and well-attended UK Flame-Off in 2008.
All beads are made with Italian, German or British glass from companies such as Moretti, Effetre and Reichenbach. Each bead is annealed and then cleaned before being put up for sale in the shop. Mike's work ranges from small bead sets to silver-riveted beads suitable for the various 'charm bracelet' systems such as Troll, Biagi, Pandora and the rest and on to large single focal beads.
All jewellery is made using the best materials available as accents to Mike's beads and every piece of jewellery is carefully described to include every component.
