My Mission: To share my fiberlust with each and every fiber freak I meet.

When I fall in love with someone, or something, I fall HARD. It’s difficult to describe how much fiber means to me. Spinning, knitting, and dyeing have become a part of my life. There is no telling where one begins and the other ends. Fiber is a burning passion, consuming my time, my money, and all the available storage space in our apartment. I really can say that I am obsessed with it, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My mother once said that the fevers she had during her last week of pregnancy baked my brain. I have no reason to doubt her. ;)

Phoenix Fiberworks is my outlet for all this creative fire. When I shop for yarn or roving to dye or spin up, I do it thinking not only of the pleasure I’ll get from creating with it, but also with YOU, my customers, in mind. I push my comfort boundaries to explore new color combinations, new techniques, new textures… all so that I can share that joy with you.

One of the avenues I offer my customers is custom dyeing and spinning. I enjoy helping fellow fiber freaks bring their vision to life. I remind every single one of them that no two skeins of yarn are the same. As every grain of sand is different, so it is with the custom process. I stress that our collaboration is just that, two creators working to find common ground in one vision. What we come up with, it’s an adventure. I take their vision and give it life. It may be slightly different from what they imagined (it’s a long trip from your head to mine), but it’s *beautiful*.

This is my passion… and I’d love to share it with you.

My husband wisely tolerates my craftiness and hides in his computer room when I'm cursing at my knitting. My idea of heaven is the NY Sheep & Wool show at Rhinebeck. I firmly maintain that Alpaca, upon my first stroking of that gloried fiber, is wonderful enough to want to roll around naked in.
