Bio

My name is Shirley Graves and I am the artist and owner of JewlBoxStore. I began designing jewelry over 17 years ago. In 2006, with the encouragement of family and friends my dreams to start a jewelry business became reality. Shortly after, I launched my website www.JewlBoxStore.com. Although I have a full time job, I still find time to run my home business as well as participate in local charity events, craft shows, bazaars and home parties.

In addition to making jewelry, I enjoy other arts & crafts including drawing, painting, knitting, sewing, home decorating and “turning trash-into-treasure”. I also enjoy camping, fishing and spending long hours walking the beaches of Lake Erie in search of rare pieces of beach glass.

Currently my favorite material to work with is Lake Erie beach glass. I love finding Mother Nature’s gems (humanities glass refuge) and turning it into one-of-a-kind jewelry. Every time I wear a piece of beach glass, memories of the sound, smell and even taste of the beach fill my mind. I especially cherish these thoughts during the long and cold winter months of nor’easters and “lake effects snow” well know to the Great Lakes region.

Other materials I enjoy working with include wire, gemstones and lampwork beads. I consider my designs to be relatively simple, yet versatile in style, in that each piece can be worn from casual to dressy… what I consider “every-day-wear”. And because my jewelry is very affordable, you can build a “princess wardrobe” on a “waitress salary”. JewlBoxStore jewelry also make wonderful gifts for all your loved ones and friends.
