Bio

Star & Crossbones sails out of sometimes-sunny, sometimes-stormy Palm Harbor, Florida, under the captainin' of Crystal, one fiber-loving half-Chinese editrix weirdo. The ship's first mate (a.k.a. Crystal's boyfriend), Brian, makes all the chain mail pretties.

The crew is happy to entertain trade offers and special piratin' requests (a.k.a. custom orders ;)), like any good piratin' ship. Convo the captain to start bargainin'.

About the cap'n

Crystal recently left a government magazine job for the uncertainty of a freelancer/crafter life, because she finally lost her patience with writing about the world while watching it go by through a plate-glass window.

Her creations are driven by a desire to leave a light footprint on the Earth's ecosystems and social systems while making beautiful things that enhance conscious living and inspire genuine delight. In college, she studied anthropology, and she hopes to incorporate more cultural themes into her work as she grows as an artist/crafter. In her "spare" time, she performs with local Renaissance Festivals and pirate shows, which helped her recognize the piratical aspect of her independent nature. That, along with her geeky tendencies, inspired the name of her business, Star & Crossbones.

Once she burns through the hoarded craft supplies accumulated while she was sitting in and office and dreaming rather than creating, she'll chase another dream she had when she started Star & Crossbones: making the business greener than she knows is possible.
