Hi ,
Just a little about Me ! I live on a little farm in Western Michigan about 11 mile from Lake Michigan. the farm is small but our hearts are big .
I and my 3 sisters and my mom live here on the farm. I raise a flock of sheep who are My pets and My source of nice fluffy wool once a year none are pedigree'd but have been choisen by Me the fiber artist for fine wool and texture .
I myself love to get my hand dirty with dyeing and delovping new ways to dye my handspun yarns . I also love to do my own blends I do send my wool to a wool processors after many days of debate on what fleece will enhance my angora or the alpaca I can get my grubby little mits on or the silk or just dyed odds and ends .
1 also raise angora rabbits. English angora came first with a beautiful chestnut buck and it then snow balled I now after 18 years of breeding and selecting the best for show have a nice herd of english that we feel is the best for fiber production . we raise and breed for show and fiber (woolers) bunnies after 14 years I retired from showing to put my heart and soul in to the fiber arts . Here at Desired Haven all the fiber I use comes from midwest fiber producers or my sheep and angora rabbit I specailize in angora blends which are my favorite fiber to spin I also love silk and alpaca and hope to add those fiber more to my rovings and handspun in the furture. please email me at any time with any question you have.
