Bio

I am a painting mama who enjoys commenting on the wild self vs. the conventional self in my paintings. I love to discuss the journey into the unconscious realms and study various forms of thought, including shamanism, which facilitate this process. "Animama" comes from Jung's concepts of anima and animus and how feminine and masculine qualities play out in our inner and creative lives. Seeking balance between the two by returning to the more mysterious aspects of the quest within is something that shows up in my work regularly.
I find that my unique creative path unfolds gracefully when I balance what is required of me with what I require to feel full. This idea comes across in my paintings, too, I suppose.

I try to remember to have fun in this process and my little animals are a good reminder to seek the fun in things, as well as the lessons.

These little pieces are also in honor of my wild children, Miles and Ivy: May they always walk in balance so that their creative souls can thrive.
