***My Inspiration and history

At the age of 15 after showing a talent for design, my parents enrolled me in a school of fine arts. Since then creating new and original pieces is my life’s passion.

I also come from a very artistic family and was exposed to many art forms from an early age.
My aunt Marie was a seamstress and ballet costume designer; she also designed gorgeous and very detailed wedding gowns. Unfortunately I can’t properly sew on a button. Lol.
My biggest influence came from two of my uncles, Samuel and Vincent. They were goldsmiths who specialized in making gold filigree jewelry. They would harvest the gold they used from South American gold mines. As a child I recall many afternoons spent in their respective studios watching them make their OWN beautiful and romantic lace like filigree designs; my favorite combinations were with Emeralds.

Influenced by my uncles’ work and an extensive study of jewelry design and fine arts, I started making my own jewelry and passing my knowledge on to my daughter. She started designing very intricate jewelry as far back as the early 80’s (I still keep a pair of Asymmetrical earrings she made for me back then). We’ve combined our skills and the result is Federikas ;)


***About our work:

All of OUR jewelry designs are made with a touch mystique and romance, plus the combination of brilliant colors, dreams, and imagination. Each piece is delicately created one at a time, by hand and lavishly adorned. Our combined jewelry making experience of over 25 years make each of our creations FINE JEWELRY ART made with exquisite craftsmanship exclusively by the artists / jewelry designers for Federikas / Vintage Filigree Jewelry Pura and Marie.

Our jewelry pieces are created using the best materials including a variety of vintage and new Czech glass beads and stones, brilliant Swarovski crystals, seed beads, fire polished beads and many other types of beads depending on each individual creation. The filigrees we use for our creations are stamped from brass and resemble fine lace work. They have been used for more than 100 years in the art of jewelry design. In fact you may see many of these filigree repousses, findings, stampings and embellishments on antique jewelry because our filigrees are vintage or reproductions made with the original antique dies which are still in service today and made by their original filigree manufacturers. The filigrees are then hand rendered and/or layered by us to encase our vintage/antique glass gems or designs. Therefore the end result is a timeless heirloom for yesterday, today and tomorrow; just like the type of beautiful jewelry you'd find in a grandmother's jewelry box.

As you can see from our stunning selection, we specialize in QUALITY not quantity. You will only find our ORIGINAL and Unique or Limited Edition Jewel Designs.

"I was recently given the Etsy website. I started looking under jewelry and found your website. I saw the most beautiful ring I had ever seen. I told my husband and showed him. It was about 2 weeks prior to Christmas. He thought it was special too.
I proceeded to tell some friends about it. Hoping he would take the website directions in. Two days later I went back to look at the ring and it was gone! I was frantic!

I spent the next several hours on Etsy rings looking for it. After 175 pages, I gave up.
Feeling exhausted and defeated I began to tell him what was wrong.He asked,"How long are you going to be upset". I said,"For a long time!" He then told me he had bought it for me! How great was that. When it came, before Christmas, I felt like a child again. I opened the box and there was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. The picture on your website didn't begin to capture its magic.I've worn it once, but have shown it several times and everyone agrees it is beautiful.I own several expensive rings, but nothing compares to it. It was the emerald cut brass filigree in emerald with the dragonfly on the stone. I wish you would do one in red.
