Bio

Previous to completing a PGCE in Secondary Design & Technology this year, I graduated from the University of Surrey Roehampton in 2004, where I received a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree Certificate in 'Art For Public Space'. The degree was designed to enable artists to have a wider understanding of Public Art and Site-Specific Art. We learnt how to go about the design and making processes of creating art for a public site from start to finish, within a group or on an individual basis. I spent the second year of my degree working in Mosaic and the third year in Stained Glass. During the third year I was chosen to undertake a commission for George Abbot School in Burpham, Guildford.Since then I have been commissioned to produce a number of stained glass windows for private residences, as well as redesigning the pub sign for The Famous Green Man pub in Ewell Village. Alongside glass and mosaic I also enjoy working in pencil, oil paint, watercolours and encaustic wax.

A huge amount of my enthusiasm for art comes from natural forms and I find patterns within nature extremely interesting and inspiring. This is probably why I love the Art Nouveau Movement so much. I also have the "Itchy Feet Syndrome" and want to go travelling constantly. So much of my inspiration has come from the amazing places I have been fortunate enough to visit on my travels, and I hope to have the opportunity to travel whenever possible.

I have to admit to spending endless amounts of time watching classic A-Team episodes,Futurama and Thundercats. Some things are just too hard to resist!
