Somewhere around the time I turned 33, my doctor told me I needed to "calm down," and she suggested that I try meditation. As a Type A personality, I had a hard time quieting my mind, so I decided to move in "baby steps" toward meditation--I picked up a "calm" hobby called knitting.

It was a love affair from my first cast on.

Soon, I found all of the sweater, scarf and hat patterns on the shelf, my mind swimming with images of plump little monstas and my knitting needles and crochet hook eating through yarn like it was going out of style.

Less than three years later, I now share these felt, knit and crochet monstas with you. (Yep--I also learned the meditation's beautiful serenity.:)
