Bio

I like to do a bit of everything - painting, making handmade decorations for the Christmas tree, sewing, wood burning, creating flowers and butterflies from various seeds and quilting.

My Mom was born and raised in Barbados and my Dad is French-Canadian. My love for crafting started at a young age when I was in Brownies. My Mom was a Brownie leader and we always had such fun, enjoyable crafts to make at the weekly meetings.

Following in my Mom's footsteps I put in a few years as a Brownie leader too. I had started out as Snowie Owl but the girls quickly re-christened me as Crafty Owl.

When I started quilting most of my other crafting got left behind, but now that I've got my Etsy shop my creative juices have started flowing in all directions again. So I am back to enjoying making all sorts of things. Variety keeps me inspired and happy!

I am here having a great time thanks to my daughter Allison who encouraged me to open my little shop. Now here I am and I'm loving it!

Allison is my daughter. She is an amazing photographer and a sweet, smart, fun loving person. She is my best friend and I love her dearly.

Amber is my new Bajan-Etsy Sister! She convo'd me after seeing my Escher flying fish woodburning to ask if I was a Bajan. When I saw her family name I told her about one of my Mom's friends who brought us a beautiful collie from England. It turns out that my Mom's friend was Amber's Grandmother! Amber is a wonderful self-taught jewelry artist. She makes beautiful unique necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants. We enjoy reminising about Barbados together and I cherish her friendship.

Denise was my first customer and she has become a great friend. Her shop contains a variety of sock animals, birdhouses, little boxes and the cutest little bears you've ever seen! Denise and I have great relationship. She helps to keep me on track.

Rachel became my friend when she purchased my scrubbies. Rachel sells lovely vintage and repurposed jewelry and accessories in her shop. I like to keep in contact with her because she is a genuine, kind person and I enjoy convo-ing with her and reading her blogs.

Shelley purchased one of my nest helpers as a gift for her sister. We had a great time conspiring together to surprise her sister and lift her spirits. Shelley's got a great Etsy shop full of fun beaded stuff and sweet little drawings made by her daughter Jen.
