Bio

I'm a mixed media artist from the West Texas area. I rediscovered my creative side when I finished my Bachelors degree in nursing in 2003. I was so tired of books and juggling college, family, and a full time job. I felt free and then I painted my living room lavender. Yes! That was the start of something wonderful for me. (My husband was not sure about that lavender and bright yellow trim but he supported me through that whole deal).
It started out simple enough. I bought a canvas and painted a pretty flower and framed it for my newly lavender living room. I got so many nice comments on that painting that I decided I was an artist darling.
There is something very liberating about saying you are an artist. Suddenly, I had confidence that I never had before. Suddenly, I was brave enough to try so many types of mediums and techniques. "I can do that" I would say to myself.
And now, going totally against what all of the Etsy success stories seem to say about doing one thing and doing it well, I continue to do many things....and I do my best. I hop from one media to another depending on my mood and inspirations. I return back to certain things often, like soldering charms and paperclay so my experience level is increasing and my work is getting better and better all the time.
I prefer to work with bright colors, whimsical and funny themes and funky-unusual things.
