Bio
I'm an accessories designer from Madison, WI. I first learned to sew on a machine around the age of 8. I have been designing clothing and accessories for over 10 years and designing jewelry since I was a child. In H.S., sick of the endless search for unique clothing, I began designing clothing for myself and friends. Before long I was thrifting for vintage fabrics to create one-of-a-kind pieces. In H.S. I also took my first art metals class and fell in love with the medium. After high school I moved from clothing design into accessories design. I appreciate the challenge of drafting my own patterns and designs and creating something from scratch. I never use patterns for any of my pieces; everything I create is designed by me from the ground up. I am inspired by street style, contrasting color combinations, vintage fabrics, and abstract design.
Nature vs Machine was started due to a dislike of cookie cutter trend-of-the-moment items and poorly designed and constructed mass-produced accessories.
I create as well as buy independently designed items. I prefer to keep my dollars circulating amongst fellow artists where it is needed and appreciated versus putting my money into the pockets of faceless corporations. Say no to mass-produced design!

*Shipping
I really love pretty packaging. Please know I have chosen, when possible, to use recycled materials to help conserve resources. This does not mean your package will arrive looking unattractive and dirty. I will only use gently-used packaging. If the item is a gift and is being sent directly to the giftee please let me know! I’ll make it look pretty and send a gift message along with the gift. Items will be securely wrapped and shipped via USPS. Because packages can become lost and/or damaged during transit Tracking and Insurance are included in the shipping on each package.
You will receive an email from PayPal with tracking and shipping information. In-stock (not custom) items are shipped via USPS Ground or Priority (depending on costs) within 7 days of payment receipt. Please let me know if you want a faster shipping method; I’m happy to accomodate!
I ship to confirmed Pay Pal addresses; please let me know if you need the package sent elsewhere. Please double check your address before submitting any order to avoid delays.
I will combine shipping for multiple items; please wait for an adjusted invoice before paying if you want to take advantage of this.
*International shipping notes
Please contact me before ordering if you’d like a package shipped to another country. I’ll gladly accommodate you.

Since each situation is unique and many items are custom orders I am not offering a set Return policy. Custom orders are final sale; however, I realize certain circumstances can arise so please contact me regarding any problems you have.
*Color variation/picture accuracy
I try to represent each item accurately; please be aware that colors may show up differently on my monitor than on yours. If you have any questions concerning an item please do not hesitate to ask.
*Feedback
Feedback is an important part of Etsy shopping. Please remember to leave feedback on your purchases and I will do the same. Please contact me if you ever have any issues so we can resolve them, before leaving negative feedback; everyone deserves to be happy!
*Custom orders
I love custom work. Just let me know if you have something specific in mind!
