Hi! My name is Amy Carriere and I am a jewelry fanatic. I can't even begin to guess when it began. As a child, I remember having a small heart-shaped gold locket with a tiny pink stone set in it's center.

In high school, when huge earrings were in, I owned about 80 pair. Being frugal as well, I never spent more than $2.00 per pair at that time. I had to switch to precious metals soon, though, as my body started reacting badly to my cheap earrings.

To begin with, that limited my collection, but soon I moved to Florida & began working in the mall there, just steps away from a jewelry store. They had credit cards, and layaway! Soon, I was appalled at how cheaply I could acquire beautiful jewelry, even one-of-a-kind pieces!

Around the time I got married, I found the anniversary gem list. My husband, to this day, thinks I made it up. But it's an actual list! I found it in a book! I stick to it as best I can, although this past year I will admit to swapping out the recommended onyx for blue diamonds. What can I say?

My only problem is that I've often had trouble finding gemstone jewelry that is quality enough to be worth the expense, but casual enough to wear everyday. Some pieces seem too precious, some are just uncomfortable, some are even too cheap.

I try to offer unique, hip handmade jewelry that can be worn just as beautifully and comfortably with anything from jeans and a t-shirt to a dress and heels.

I believe that gemstone jewelry should not be kept for special occasions, but that it should be worn to make everyday an occasion. We, as hip, unique, hard-working, ass-kicking women of this modern world certainly deserve modern, wearable accessories to highlight our beauty and power!
