Bio

Daniella Peña was born in Asunción, Paraguay; where she remained for most of her childhood years. She has also, however, lived in Brazil and the US. This exposure has made her a fluent speaker in the languages of English, Spanish and Portuguese.

She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2007, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design. Her work has been shortlisted in the international design competition of 2006 “Shelter in a Cart,” and is featured on the Designboom website. Today, Daniella works as a freelance designer, creating one-of-a-kind home furnishings and jewelry.

“I design furniture and jewelry as a way to express myself. I love working with my hands and get a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction when building furniture or any other functional object. Contrast is evident in my work through the use of different materials, textures and colors. What motivates me to create furniture and/or jewelry is the challenge of transcending the common perception of these objects, delivering a unique and fully functional product.”
