BIO & ARTIST STATEMENT
======================

I am an Artist-Blacksmith from central Illinois. I find that forging metal is one of the purest forms of sculpture. When brought up to the right temperature the metal can be moved and shaped, much like clay. The volume of raw material started with is maintained after imparting work upon it, but is more refined--nothing being lost. The hammer marks left on the completed work represent moments that have been captured in time, each chronicling a point where thoughts and emotions were experienced.

I draw inspiration from many sources, especially nature. I also look to the work of other artisans for fresh ideas and renewed spirit. I have a deep appreciation for anyone who develops the skills to make beautiful things with their hands, whatever the material he or she works with. And craftsmanship is always a goal for each piece I create.

I am glad to be a member of ETSY and in the company of so many other craftspeople. I hope to offer items that are both unique and inspiring. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. I also do custom orders. See headings below for return policy, shipping details, etc.

INTEGRITY & GURANTEE

The integrity of a piece is as much the process followed during its creation as the final aesthetic achieved. Most of my work is truly hand-wrought, meaning that no power tools are used during the forging process. All is done at the forge and anvil using traditional blacksmithing techniques. I believe it is important that the line between what is handmade and what is manufactured does not become too blurry. I usually hallmark larger pieces to indicate that they were hand-wrought. Otherwise, I will always state in an item’s description that modern methods were used by appropriately saying it was forged & ‘”fabricated.”

I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not, it may be returned for a full refund of the item cost. And I encourage your feedback.
