Bio

I have been making things for people all my life. I have been making dolls since I was 11 years old, when I got my first sewing machine. My first handmade doll was a Holly Hobbie doll.

My background includes college courses in design, draping and pattern drafting, working behind the scenes at fashion runway shows, and writing copy for fashion advertising. I also had my own millinery business, designing and making hats, and later a small business making portraits in fabric collage.

I have concentrated my creative efforts on making original dolls since 2000. I do all of the design and construction work myself. I design my own doll forms and generally drape the costume onto the doll like a dressform. Each doll is unique, with its own distinct personality. I love making dolls! I am able to combine all of the talents and skills I have acquired over the years. I can design, sew, draw, paint, dye fabric, and employ various embellishment techniques.
