Welcome! I am so happy to share my designs with you and your little angel. I have been a seamstress for almost 30 years and have a passion for all things beachy, cottage, shabby chic, and vintage. My background is in art, and I hold a Bachelors Degree in Art Education and a Masters of Science Degree in Fashion Design and Marketing.
I have been a freelance designer for over 15 years, and have made everything from bridal dresses to draperies. My passion is vintage textiles, and I love finding new uses for discarded and damaged treasured heirloom linens. I love searching and finding special pieces to make into romantic designs.
My inspirations are my two beautiful daughters who keep me very busy. One is very "prim and proper", one is quite sassy, which is how I got the name for my store, "Prim and Sassy Cottage Creations".
A little about me:
I learned to sew at a very young age, and was instantly bit by the fashion bug. After high school I pursued my degree in art, but always had a passion for sewing and shopping for fabric. After finishing college I had the opportunity to attend graduate school and received my Master's Degree in Fashion Design and Marketing. I am currently a full-time professor in Fashion Retail Marketing and Design, and I still have the same passion for designing and creating my own original fashions.
The name for my store was inspired by my two beautiful daughters, the oldest who has always been very prim and proper, and the little one who has always been sassy.
If you have a special request or are looking for a particular fabric, please feel free to contact me, I love to do special orders.
My most popular design is my "pillowcase dress", which has ribbbon ties at the shoulder which are adjustable so that you can make it longer as your little one grows. It can even be worn as a cute top over jeans or leggings after it has become too short to be worn as a dress. All of the ties are reinforce stitched so that they won't be lost in the wash, and they have been treated to prevent fraying.
These dresses are meant be worn below the knee, but if you want a longer style please order the next size up. These dresses are a very loose fitting design and can be worn on warm days by themselves and over a tshirt or turtleneck on cooler days.
Thanks again for visiting my cottage! Grab a cup of coffee, come on in, and browse around.
