Michaela Mrafkova Martinez is an independent artist from Bratislava-Slovakia, former Czechoslovakia-now living in sunny Florida. She studied art since a very young age in Art Community Centers. She has exhibited early drawings in the Zichy Palace, Bratislava in the collective exhibition "Art Youth of Slovakia". She continued her studies with a one year course in advanced drawing with Academic Painter E.Kuzmova in Bratislava. She participated in charitable causes donating numerous original paintings like in "Art for Environment" (Germany), "Kiwanis Doll" (To benefit hospitalized children Belgium) "Red Cross" (USA to benefit victims of the Katrina Hurricane) and others. Her interests broadened into the study of color therapy , children's psychology, religion and spirituality, metaphysics and she continues to experiment with how color effects our bodies, moods and feelings into her digital and original art works. For the most part she is a self-taught artist, intuitive and expressive and desires to paint for life. Presently her original paintings and prints are being shown and sold in the famed "heart" gallery -Pierre Marcel Gallery, FL and in the "Wildflower Gallery" Upstate New York; Most recent exhibit: Broward Art Guild, Show: Controversy;

" I became a better artist in my opinion when I became a mother to a beautiful girl born with cleft palate, who's speech challenge afforded a lot of space for artful communicatios and time out of a day job.

"I consider my self a student in art, even though I have been fortunate to find admiration and appreciation for my art from modern collectors and art lovers, from all over the world-mainly from Australia, Great Britain, Slovakia and USA. I am still studying and planning on improving myself and my art, I love to experiment with techniques, and inventing new ones. I love textures, using different materials, and changing style according my mood.

Plans for future to contact fine art publishers-to make my originals painting available as prints to wide public, and to self-publish a book of art and poetry.
