Aerten's Profile

Bio

I am a self-taught (Outsider) artist, specializing in abstract works of art. I work with acrylics, watercolor and/or encaustic (wax), and often experiment with mixed-media techniques. I enjoy abstract / nonrepresentational art because it allows you, the viewer, to see whatever speaks to you from the painting. You create your own story about the art, making it a more personal relationship to the artwork.

I currently enjoy small format art (SFA), which is any piece of art that measures less than 14" in any direction, though I do have some pieces that are larger than that. My largest piece to date is an encaustic piece that measures 24" x 24".

I am an EBSQ self-representing artist, a member of OSWOA (Original Small Works of Art), WWAO (Worldwide Women Artists Online), and the Upstate Artists Guild in Albany, NY.
