PROFILE
Hello. My name is Jess Bradlee, the owner and creator of Moderncard—a little shop I run out of my home in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Moderncard began in March of 2007, when I came across this great site called ETSY. I was so excited to have found a place where I could sell my handmade cards online.

MODERNCARD is Modern to Today
Moderncard is where my paper obsession meets my creative side. I consider myself a “paper chef” of sorts, trying to blend the perfect combination of papers and embellishments to create a well balanced card. Inspired by design magazines and the latest fashion trends, each card is designed and assembled by me. I try to discover ways to mix the handmade papers with the most modern/up to date paper prints, creating a fusion of different styles –in hopes of creating paper goods appealing to all ages. While creating cards, I usually think of a particular friend or family member. They give me inspiration when I think of what style card they would appreciate.

BACKGROUND
I grew up in a restaurant (literally, in the apartment above). I majored in education and later interior design and then ended up with a degree in Culinary Arts? Huh? I have a 3 year old boy, who is obsessed with snowmobiles, at the moment (that will change next week), a talented carpenter/sculptor husband and a Town Clerk job that I love. We live on Martha’s Vineyard year round.
