Bio
There are many reasons I adore the poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock", not the least of which is that I can overthink every potential action of my life
(sometimes to the point of inaction) with the best of them. Prufrock lifts this obsessive introspection to an artform.
My favorite line has the character speaking of "measure[ing] out my life with coffee spoons." This image sticks with me as I measure out my life with little crafty projects; each one a reflection of where I've been:
"I remember buying this yarn 3 years ago on the best road trip ever!"
where I'm going:
"What will someone be making with the crazy stuff they find in my tool box 50 years from now?"
who I care for:
"She is going to love the ribbon on this. It looks just like the dress she wore in 5th grade."
Are there many better ways to mark time than by completing something that is tactile, fun, colorful and handmade?
Also, "spoon!" is an awesome battle-cry:
