Mother's Precious Gems began back in 1991, and at that time I was making mothers bracelets using mainly gold filled components and semi-precious stones such as Rhodanite and Malachite, which is where the name Mothers' "Precious" Gems comes from ! (Of course, our children are precious too!) Each of my creations is a unique design with a fine attention to detail.

Two years ago I began working with the American Cancer Society to promote cancer awareness, as it has touched our family and the lives of so many families we know. I was making cancer awareness bracelets for their Illinois branch offices when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2008. A new found passion of mine as I battle through chemo therapy until December 2009 is to promote awareness. If you wish to champion the cause of cancer awareness with me, you will find many choices in designs here, and they create a special place for you to "wear your heart on your sleeve." Custom orders are welcome. If you don't see what you have in mind in the shop, please convo me and I can help you design something special for yourself or someone you love. Orders take approximately 10 - 14 days for delivery. International orders are accepted but please inquire about shipping to your specific location prior to ordering. We celebrate families! Additional strands are added at cost of materials and shipping only to any previously purchased Mothers' Precious Gems bracelet as my congratulation to you on your new addition! Refunds on custom orders are given within 10 days of receipt of purchase in the form of store credit only, less original Etsy and Paypal fees as well as shipping as these cannot be recovered by the seller. Refunds of non-custom orders are given (less same fees and shipping costs) once product is received returned within 10 days of receipt. Thank you for understanding.

I use mostly sterling silver and gold filled components and authentic Austrian Swarovski crystals, but will sometimes use plated materials or base metals, and will state as such. Each toggle or box style clasped bracelet includes a safety chain if requested, to protect you from losing your bracelet. After 15 years of jewelry design and creations I take a lot of pride in what I produce and I'm sure you will be equally pleased with your purchase. I am happily beading at my home in Virginia. I enjoy spending time with my husband of 20 years and our 4 great kids ages 13 - 18. I also enjoy beading, of course, cooking, walking, and teaching preschool. With my military husband, we have lived from the South Pacific to Europe and everywhere in between, but my beads have always come with me!
