hi. :) my name is Wendy. i dont like capitalization or apostrophes but that doesnt mean that i'm uneducated or illiterate. i am 28 years old and i am married to the most wonderful man to ever draw breath. we were married on september 3, 2007 and our daughter Tallulah was born on June 4, 2008. my husband and i live together in the second coolest city in the world: Austin, Texas. i like to listen to music (who doesnt, right?), particularly jolie holland. you should go check out her music if you havent already. i really and truly enjoy designing and if i could support myself for the rest of my life doing this, i totally would. :)

like all great things in my life, Wandering Girl Designs came out of absolute boredom and this shop actually started off as a jewelry shop. once i became pregnant, my pregnancy was classified as "high risk", and i temporarily lost the ability to sit upright for long periods of time, which is a necessity for making jewelry. once the massive heartburn and all-day-long morning sickness and my surgical incisions healed, i started crocheting again with a ferocity that i'd never had before.

i like to make simple designs that show off the natural beauty of the materials that i have chosen for each piece. my work was recently described to me as "practical, functional elegance" and i like that description because it's exactly what i go for when designing pieces.
