Shulamite is a mother-and-daughter crafting, embroidery and sewing project by Pauline Tweedy and Mandi Apple Collingridge, both SAHMs ^_^

(To explain: Pauline is Mandi's mom, and Mandi is mom to a beautiful 5-year-old daughter, Astrid, who has Asperger's Syndrome and a totally bonkers and wonderful sense of humour that even has her schoolteachers rolling on the floor with lulz XD)

What we make is frequently inspired by the fascinating culture, beautiful fabrics and stunning designs of East Asia, so our most often used materials are (both new and vintage) imported Japanese chirimen, kimono and obi silks; we also adore Japanese imported cottons, and Mandi also enjoys hand-stitching traditional sashiko, using authentic Japanese imported materials, needles and thread.

However, we love rich, decadent fabrics from everywhere else too, so you'll also find many hand-dyed and hand-painted fabrics and threads, tulle, silk velvet, organza, Dupioni silk, satin, brocade, lace and damask here, as well as unusual textiles - I have a terrible fabric obsession XD

We aim to produce unique, deluxe designs that you wouldn't be able to find at your average local mall, and we hope you like our style! ^_^
