A portion of the proceeds of each sale on via Pacifica benefits the work of Beads of Courage®, a unique program for children coping with serious illness, and their families. Headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, Beads of Courage collaborates with Children's Hospitals and medical centers throughout the United States to create a tangible symbol for what is often a life-and-death struggle, not only for the child, but for family members as well.

Each child enrolled in the program is given a length of string with beads that spell out their first name. As treatments and procedures are endured, other beads are added to the strand, each one representing a different milestone. In this way, the beads give voice to the children's experience and give special significance to each step along the way.

You will receive an email when your order ships. If you would like to have your purchase sent as a gift, I would be happy to inscribe a gift card and ship for you. Just let me know what you want to say in the "message for seller" box at checkout and send the mailing name and address of the gift recipient. If you need your gift purchase to be received by a certain date, please let me know so I can work with you to make sure your choice will be delivered on time.
