A litle about me..... hmmm, let's see..... I've been married for 26 years, we have two daughters and a 15 yr. old Yorkie, named Chaz.
My girls are also creative in their own right. My older daughter creates via the human head. *grin* She creates incredible art with hair... weaving in and out, curling here and there.... the final results are like... WOW!! My younger daughter has always liked to "play" with my supplies, now that she's nearly 21, in college in DC, she's getting serious and has taken an art class.
My creativity began when my grandmother stuck a needle and thread in my hand when I was old enough to not stick myself with it. Later she then taught me how to crochet. When I was around 10, she taught me how to use the sewing machine. I'm told this is what was done in the old country (Portugal) with the young girls. Although I was born and raised in Boston, MA... I have never regretted one minute of my teachings with my "nana".
In elementary school, fingerpaints, crayons, and those very frustrating tubs of watercolor paints. You remember those don't you?? No matter how much water you added, you never got enough color out of them to tell the pink from the red, the black from the brown. (Can you tell it stuck with me all these years?) LOL
From the 5th - 12th grade I was in sewing classes. 4 yrs in high school in fashion designing classes. Not to forget my experiences in ceramics, art class and "trailer art". I'll save that story for another time.
Through the years I worked with several mediums.......
textures of all kinds, fabrics, papers, clay, ceramics, woodworking, painting, home made papers, candles, polymer clay, doll making, ornaments & holiday crafts, crocheting, gift items etc.
After starting a family, I became a stay at home mom and sold to 5 shops in the United States as well as participated in craft shows for many years. When the girls were old enough and in school full time, I began working outside of the home again which took up a lot of my creativity time......that never stopped me from creating in the evenings though. I just left me wanting to be a stay at home mom again..... Hmmm..... *wheels are turning* How can I justify doing that with the girls 24 and 21 years old?
OK... enough about me..... that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
