About 2 years ago a friend and I opened an art studio for children called Purple Hippo Art Studio, www.purplehippoartstudio.com. The experience has changed me as an artist. It has shown me that art is fun and that the process is just as important as the end result.
I truly enjoy making jewelry. My pieces are clean, simple, and unique. I use found objects and take them out of their context by setting them into my jewelry. All of the objects I use are things that can be easily lost and replaced. Whether it is a button that fell off of a shirt, a marble that rolled in the grass, or a piece of wood found on the ground, I take these objects that are lost and find them. In the process these objects are redefined. Instead of being forgotten, I give them a new life as the focus of my jewelry.
