Thank you for taking the time to look at my plants and check out my profile!

My love for plants started as a small child. My mother purchased me a pink Barbie Greenhouse complete with pink pots and marigold seeds. I haven’t stopped growing plants since then…..

I currently work in the sustainable agriculture industry here in Santa Cruz. In 2004 I graduated from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo with a degree in Environmental Horticulture Science with an emphasis in Plant Protection. I worked my way through college in a large retail nursery. I took a retail horticulture class at Poly and found out the sad truth about the virtual impossibly of opening my own nursery. The professor told us we would make more money selling the land the nursery was on than we would every make the entire time we were in business. Thank goodness for esty, now I have my own on-line nursery! All with out having to buy any land. Plus I’m open 24 hours a day and people can visit my nursery from around the world along with the fact I’m now part of a great do-it-yourself community.

In 2006 I completed an internship in The Presidio of San Francisco. I worked closely with their native plant nursery and composting program. I learned how to make a peat free compost based potting mix. This knowledge has become an important part of my plant production. I use no pesticides or fertilizers, only high quality potting mixes I make mostly myself.
