TheSunPorch's Profile

Bio

I grew up on a hobby farm in rural SW KS, learning to love the creative process while watching my father make what he called "junk art" from found objects. My BFA is in Graphic Design/Illustration from the University of Kansas. After a series of personal tragedies, I adopted the mantra, "The sun always rises" along with my current fine folk art style. My incorporation of salvaged objects (hubcaps are a favorite) is a metaphor for hope and redemption and serves as a nod to my late father. I live in the midwest with my most important "pieces of work"
--my kids.

I've been selling my art professionally in galleries for years:

Naked Art Gallery, Birmingham AL
Funky Chicken Art Project, Dahlonega GA
The Gift Itself, Green Bay WI
Earth Song Creations, Salida CO

My experience also includes graphic design and retail displays. See examples of my work at
