~♥~WHO AM I?~♥~
I am an avid knitter, who avoids important things like housework and the outdoors just to be able to devote time to my obsession. I am a stay-at-home/work-from-home mama of three wild and crazy boys and an even wilder Jack-Rat puppy. I am the wife of a wonderful man, who understands my fiber obsession. Being an Air Force Brat, I was born in England, grew up in California, and now live in Arkansas. I have lived many other places and experienced many types of folks. That's who I am in a nutshell.

~♥~CONFESSIONS OF A YARN-A-HOLIC~♥~
Back in 2006, I was on summer vacation in Vermont. I have been blessed with a wonderful Mom who lives in such a beautiful state. Having three boys, two 15 months apart, I had discovered knitting as therapy. The feel of the yarn running through my fingers was the most relaxing thing. Having control over my finished product was the ultimate, living in a world where there was little control. (can you say Control Freak?)

To say the least, I was yarn obsessed. Yarn is such a luxurious thing...it doesn't matter what kind, I loved it all. I wanted to touch every fiber, see every colorway, and then I wanted more. Wait, I was telling you about Vermont. Back to the story...
In the summer of 2006, one of my favorite frequents in Vermont, is an amazing restaurant in Stowe called The Shed. It is the best ever...well...the beer is for sure! If you ever go, be sure to get a "Ski of Beer" and be sure you have someone to drive you home. After leaving The Shed, I noticed a yarn shop tucked away on a side street. I hopped out of the car and ran in.
It caught my eye instantly. Hanging on the wall was the most exquisite thing I had ever seen. Like a moth running to a zapper, I had no choice. It was a very large hank of hand painted yarn from Cherry Tree Hill. Once the yarn was in my hands, the clouds cleared, the sun shined, and I heard my calling. "You must paint yarn...you must do this!" Then I thought...you can PAINT yarn!?!?!?!

~♥~INSPIRATIONS~♥~
Her hands are busy spinning, her fingers twisting fiber. Proverb 31:19 I'm a christian woman. This doesn't mean I am perfect, for I fall very short of that. I just try hard to be the best person God created me to be. I find my inspiration in the world around me and in all the pictures God paints us each day. He really is the one in control ya know!

The company officially started in January of 2007. It all started with an obsession to create. Being as passionate about yarn as I am, there was not enough yarn to fill the obsession. Painting yarn was the next natural step to take. Then spinning yarn had to follow. The next logical step would be owning a sheep, but unfortunately, that is not in the future of The Twisted Purl.
Once the painting started, it hasn't stopped. Being a stay at home mom and an entrepreneur at heart, I had always wanted to start up a business. With the Bible verse from Proverbs in mind, I became The Twisted Purl. Ironically, after starting my business, and after four solid years of knitting...I discovered I had been twisting my purls. Everything I had knit had a Twisted Purl. True Story!
