Professional Bio:Hi there!
OK, so I could literally write a book as to where I've taught Jewelry Classes around the country, what my current direction is and all the wonderful things that can tell you my credentials.
Feel free to convo me here.
What's important to me right now is how I can give back to at risk women and young adults.
Here's my current HEART Tugs:
One of my main goals is to raise $$ to buy both jewelry tools and supplies so that I can begin to teach jewelry making to women who have been hindered in making a living for their families. I am interested in eventually getting to the Congo, but am starting to do this in Harrisburg, PA where there is a VERY poor population of people including MANY unwed young mothers.
PLEASE help me Help them.
I have started a program called Charms for Children. It is a program where I sit and teach young people how to design and work with the silver clay so that they can make an original charm in order to raise funds for a positive cause or need of their choice. This is a copy-righted name and once the kids get the design down, they will use this name to promote their cause.

Why this site? I am actually trying to raise awareness for acouple of things. First is a program which I have developed called Charms for Children. It is a program where I sit and teach young people how to design and work with the silver clay so that they can make an orginal charm for in order to raise funds for a positive cause or need of their choice. This is a copy-writed name and once the kids got the design down, they will use this name to promote their cause. One of my goals is to use Patina's Wings on Etsy to showcase young people's work.
My mother just passed away Oct.4th 2008 and I want to give back to the community who gave to her. I also wish to bring awareness about how many elderly don't want their children to be a burden and by NOT letting them partake in the final stresses that the end of life can bring, adult children don't have closure in many ways. It is for this reason that I am writing a book on the subject.
As I learn about the health care system(s) for our elderly, I REALLY want to make a difference in bringing change on a federal level to change the definition of what the term "Minimun Standards" are both as they define the actual manual care and what the workers are capable of doing. It is appauling what I have seen based on facilites making loads of $$ off our parents and elderly. And how the workers are overworked and under paid.

So there you have it. My Crusades! Anyway, THANK God for the use of my hands and for creativity!!
Why "Patina's Wings"
As you can see there in my avatar and banner there are a couple of pictures of a beautiful Persian cat. I earned Patina by making a beautiful piece of jewelry for a dear friend who at the time raised Persians. Patina became one of my dearest friends. She was there when I had to go through some deep deep healing. She never ever left my side.
In August of 2006 while I was teaching jewelry classes in CT, Patina accidently got out of the house and was hit and killed by a car. This broke my former husband's heart because he found her and simply had the hardest time telling me when I got home. My daughter Michelle and my husband buried her and I never really could hold her and tell her good-bye.
I lost a very dear friend.
I have decided to show the world some of my work with silver through Patina's Wings. Some of the proceeds from the little charm named after her will go towards animal organizations such as PAWS and S.P.C.A in her memory.
Thank you for taking your time out and reading about a very special friend.
WHO am I?
I'm a diverse multi-media geeky artisan who simply LOVES the task of learning how to. I think that it is because I have a father and two brothers who were engineers. Anyway, I have been focusing on developing cutting-edge techniques using gold on glass. These are the KIST Techniques. I also teach all levels of silver work, working with gold and setting stones.
Not to mention introduction of stringing, and wire work.
I LOVE to see peoples' eyes open wide when they get down a technique and it works for them.
I am also a person who has walked through many serious issues of abuse and can help those stuck there to move into healing. This is my calling.
I LOVE my daughters Michelle and Janelle. Having my best friend Jesus, my daughters, my work on myself and my Art is who I am. I've got a good life and wish to share my knowledge on any level with anyone.
