Hello! I'm Annemari from Finland. I'm 23 years old and I study in the university of Helsinki. As a counterbalance to all that reading and writing I love to create and make things with my hands. Sewing is what I love the most and pretty fabrics are what I'm most addicted to. All my items are handmade with care by me.

ETYMOLOGY

My shop's name "Revontulitikku" is Finnish and it can be translated literally as "the match that lights the Aurora Borealis". In Finnish Aurora Borealis is "revontuli" which literally means "fox's fire", because it was believed that Aurora Borealis was born when a fox whisked snow to the sky with it's tail. We have tons of compound nouns in Finnish and we love to play with words and make up new funny combinations by combining two compound nouns that end and begin with the same word. That is also how the name of my shop was born: "revontuli" ("Aurora Borealis") and "tulitikku" ("a match").
