Bio

I make from my home on the west coast of Scotland under the name "the patchwork dress" - the idea comes from seeing creative living as a 'material' piece stitched together - expressed as cards, photography, textile pieces - all forming the greater whole.
I trained and have worked as an interior designer and film/tv art director, designer and artist.
I have a passion for quilts and patchwork - past and present, and creative blogging - writing being the thread to stitch it all together.
I love the idea of unique, handmade objects and the exchange of something made or written by hand as a life enrichening experience.
Increasingly I like to work with 'found' materials, or combining recycled with new, minimising resources that 'take' from the earth.
