*bio* hello, my name is benjamin. i was raised outside of seattle, and received a couple of undergraduate art degrees from the university of washington. i moved to chicago in 2004, and that is where i currently live with my girlfriend, alisa, and our two kitties, abby and lucy. i have a studio in my apartment where i do my embroidery and other artwork.

i began my embroidering on a 3 month, 17 city adventure through europe in the summer and autumn of 2005. trying to find a creative outlet that was small and easy to move, embroidery was a perfect and fun project. i made a couple t-shirts from patterns in europe and continued working from patterns when i returned to chicago. after making many shirts for myself, i went out on a limb and began designing the images that i would embroider and making the shirts you see on this website.

my embroidery is all done by hand, using the back stitch technique. all of the designs on the shirts that you see are original, making these shirts one-of-a-kind pieces. they take quite a bit of time to make but i enjoy the process and seeing a drawing come to life and be a piece of wearable artwork.

*if you see something you like, but it's not in your size or color preference, i would love to make you what you want! i do have some american apparel shirts in stock, or i can get the one you want. just convo me and we can get it rolling!

*t-shirt care* i recommend hand wash or machine wash cold, line dry, warm iron if needed. this is how i take care of my embroidered shirts and some of them are a couple years old and still in great shape!

*shop info* i only list what i have available and ready to go. i ship 2-3 days after payment has gone through.

*i ship 1st class usps or priority mail. please make sure your etsy and paypal address match.

*i want you to love what you get as much as i loved making it. i will accept returns as long as you email me within 7 days to let me know it's on the way and it's in the original condition and packaging. please insure return packages. they tend to get lost in chicago. i do not refund shipping charges.
