Bio

Karin Norstrom is a contemporary jewellery designer who has been designing, producing and selling unique, handmade jewellery through various outlets in Ottawa, Ontario since 2006.

Karin first studied Interior Design, and then worked in retail management for several years. During this time, she learned a lot about design and what people crave…uniqueness. After a desire to do something creative with her life, Karin decided that making jewellery would be the perfect career change. With the support from family and friends, she got her start. Fascinated with plastic as a medium, Karin focused her skills and efforts on resin casting.

Karin now designs two or three collections a season working with current trends and colours. She casts real flowers, leaves, shells, Japanese paper and other found objects in resin to create one of a kind jewellery pieces. Using quality materials and professional workmanship, Karin creates jewellery that is stylish, contemporary and unique. Each piece is handmade in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada using epoxy resin, gold and silver plated wire, and occasionally pieces of Swarovski crystal.

Simplicity and colour inspires Karin. She has a life-long passion for modern design and is influenced by nature, music, modern art, wallpaper patterns, and anything retro modern.
