Bio

Andreina Davila is an independent emerging artist whose experimental combination of media is unique and organic.

Born in Venezuela in 1977, Andreina obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture in 2000, from La Universidad de los Andes, in Merida. She then moved to Tempe, AZ where she pursued graduate studies in Arizona State University, obtaining her Master’s Degree in Design. She relocated to Florida in 2003 and will me moving her studio to the Bay Area in early 2008.

In the second half of 2007, her work was exhibited and praised in numerous shows and venues around Central Florida, earning her a prize at the Lake Mary Heathrow Festival of the Arts.

The use of recycled materials in Andreina’s pieces reflects her deep awareness of the potential life of discarded objects. Her works blend different media and explore an assortment of colors and textures, at the same time that they are able to retain an organic unrefined balance.

“I want my art to awake itself from here into new perspectives (…) As a mixed media artist, my creative process has no boundaries defined by the appropriateness of a medium, a technique, style or school of thought. (…)
I want my art to be a free uninterrupted stream of feelings, strong and steady, an organic equilibrium of the empiric fusion of different materials. I want to evolve into an artist with no fears of expressing a wide range of feelings, sensations and ideals. I want to be true to myself and more importantly, I want to be true to my community (...) I promise I will never stop searching.
