All my creations are professionally made by myself alone in my smoke and pet-free studio and each proudly displays my custom, "made in USA" label to distinguish them from mass-produced items so that "giftees" will be suitably impressed by your shopping savvy!

I love working with faux fur and have mastered the process. All the faux-fur items I have currently listed are fashioned from yardage I bought a couple years ago. I haven't been able to find the same quality since for a reasonable price.

If I'm not sewing in my shop at home ..... then I must be sewing away from home!
You can't see my hands in this little bio picture, but I actually do not have needle and thread. I'm enjoying one of the perks of my job as a costume technician: TRAVEL. Most of my gigs are on cruise ships, but I've worked for the Kennedy Center and for the Rockettes and had fun working as a "dresser" backstage on many shows.

When I'm home and give myself some rare time off, I love to garden and read. I'm the chairperson of our 10,000 square foot, native plant and butterfly garden at church. The congregation also kindly lets me design and create costumes and scenery for the occasional holiday plays.

Conor and Casey - my two little "tigers" keep me loved and laughing and I have a wonderful son and granddaughter, as well.

For seven years I've been selling designer home-decor fabrics on ebay - my name there is atelier-alexander. Recently, my hand-crafted work has been picked up by two notable boutiques in Sarasota, Florida, and I'm blessed to have good success with seasonal "trunk sales" in Long Island, NY.

I continue to be excited about being part of this world-wide Etsy community, where "handmade" is given respect and is the only focus. I'm trying to wind-down my traveling so that I can devote more time to my joy and offer you more of my creations.
