Thank you so much for visiting my shop!
I've been crafting for pretty much as long as I can remember. I've always loved art projects, always had things in school making it to the art shows. In high school I made and sold beaded necklaces to my friends. Since then I've done work in scrap-booking, card-making, knitting, sewing, and now I've discovered polymer clay. It is the most
versatile medium I've found.

Cane making:
Some of my items are made from slices of canes. Canes are logs/snakes/bars-whatever you like to call them- that have a design that runs all the way through it, so when you slice it, you get the same design on each slice. Pretty cool, eh?

Mica Shift:
Mica are tiny glittery particles that give pearlescent clay its pearly-ness. When you run the clay through the pasta machine a whole bunch the mica aligns itself in the same direction. Then I press a stamp into the clay, and make a nice little image-no ink, just the impression. While that looks nice, I like to go a little further. I take out my blade and start slicing away the raised portions, until its completely flat again. The cool part is that the image that was stamped is still there, but the clay is flat! I love it!

Mokume Gane is actually taken from a Japanese woodworking technique of the same name. Its similar to Mica Shift, except you can use any clay, including translucent, whatever inclusions you can think of (gold leaf, inks, etc.) and layer it. Then press your image in, and slice away!
