Bio

My name is Dorothy Cheng and I am a Seattle-based metals artist, with a BFA in Metals from the University of Washington. I was born in China, but grew up in New Jersey and Indiana, and my work tends to have elements that reference this spectrum of experiences. Although I draw inspiration for my work from writers, artists, and historical eras and figures as diverse as ancient Egypt's Middle Kingdom, Dita Von Teese, and Louis XIV, I try to create items for Etsy that exude a playful, delicate aesthetic that is not overwhelmed by these conceptual underpinnings.
