It is a mix of what I love about etsy (which is practically everything), some youtube videos, my culinary (baking mostly) attacks and any other things that I enjoy doing or just talking about.

All of our products are conceived of and made by us.

IMPORTANT: We make no medical or therapeutic claims about our products. We cannot and will not offer advice on skin or health conditions. If you have allergies or sensitivities, we suggest you contact your healthcare provider before trying any new products, handmade or commercial.

Packaging: I had to give in to time constraints. Sparta Soap is labeled and then shrink wrapped.
It is best store the soap away from strong light. Strong light may cause botanical colorants to lighten, but will not affect the quality of the soap.
Soap fragrance will seem very strong when you open the plastic, but will mellow once it's been opened.

- The Big Lye - Many people ask us if there is lye (sodium hydroxide) in our soap. The answer is "No." Lye is used to create soap, but there is no lye left in the finished product. Lye is an alkali and the oils are fatty acids. When combined in the proper proportions and with the correct methods, they become soap. Yeah, that's an over simplification, but you get the point. All soap is made with lye. Anything made without lye is a detergent and not a soap. The ingredients listed on our soap labels show what went into the soap before going through the cold process method and saponification.

Clays, Spices, Botanicals, Herbs, etc.: These are what I use to color Sparta Soap. There is one exception, my Absinthe soap is colored with mineral pigments so it's as green as it should be!

Shipping:
We ship within two business days.
We ship First Class mail (for items up to 13 oz) and Priority Mail.
If shipping seems excessive, don't worry, I refund any excess that you have paid.
Insurance is optional at buyer's expense at $1.70 for the first $50.00.
All orders ship with delivery confirmation. If you have not received your order and the Post Office confirmation shows package as delivered, I can not replace your package. You must go through your local post office!

Omissions/Incorrect items: No matter how hard I try, I do make the occasional mistake. :) If an item(s) is missing or we sent the wrong item, please let us know within seven (7) days and we will ship the missing or replace the incorrect item(s) as soon as possible at no charge to you.
