-babyhoot. beginnings-
babyhoot. started in the summer of 2007 when two sisters, Jessica and Christina, realized with their sewing and business skills, they could bring affordable quality baby products to everyone! thus, babyhoot. was born.

With three kids under the age of eight(Jessica) and as a full time nanny of twin toddlers (Christina) we've seen our fair share of poorly made baby stuff, and it's frustrating- blankets slapped together in another country made with scratchy material, burpcloths that don't really absorb or stay put, bibs that did NOT keep baby's clothes clean. You name it, we've seen it and we are disappointed! So, all our babyhoot. products must pass the is-this-good/soft/durable/cute-enough-to-use-with-the-baby?" test.

if it's not good enough for our family, we most certainly won't sell it to you for your family!

-what's with the name?-
babyhoot is Jessica's oldest daughter's attempt at saying the word 'bathing suit'. when she was two years old, she and her brother loved the soundtrack to the musical "A Year with Frog and Toad", and there's a song called "Toad Looks Funny in a Bathing Suit" that became the kids' favorite. she would sing her heart out, "toad looks funny in a BAAAY-BBBBEEEE-HOOOOT!" and there's the silly story.

-odds & ends @ us-
Jessica is the oldest sister, six years older than Christina. We also have two other younger siblings too. our mom owns a marital arts school; and she plus her four kids (that'd be us) are all black belts; both Jessica AND Christina's husbands too, and Jessica's son is a black belt as well. Jessica's younger daughter will be there... soon. Jessica still teaches classes; which is why her kids are so awesome- they do class all the time when Mommy's there! Moral of the story: don't mess with our family. We can take you out in about thirty different ways. :) seriously.

-our dream come true- it would be so darn cool to run into a stranger with their child using a babyhoot product. That'd be the coolest. Or maybe having Oprah love our stuff. Nah, meeting someone is way cooler. Running into Oprah on the street with a babyhoot item... there ya go!

-Christina likes pink frilly things. She thinks the more the better when it comes to sparkles, polka dots, or other girly elements. Jessica does not think so, and wishes there were more baby girl items out there that didn't scream *bubble-gum-pink-cheerleader-giggle-giggle*. naturally, her daughter Sweet Pea's favorite color is camouflage and she hates to wear dresses.

-Jessica hates chicken, seafood, and any meats that look like carcasses (bones, ligaments, capillaries- all gross). Christina hates spaghetti, and can't even look at it. See, we're both weird. (and when we were little, Jessica would pass Christina her meat at the dinner table and CK would secretly eat it. Thanks sis! We eventually got caught and that was the end of that plan.)
