torchsong's Profile
Bio
I have been making glass beads since 1994. I was a potter for over 20 years and worked for many years as a musician and in the music industry before taking up lampworking and jewelry making. Much of my work is sold to designers and collectors at bead shows and galleries across the United States. I regularly teach glass beadmaking and fusing classes at the UCSD Crafts Center in La Jolla, CA (www-crafts.ucsd.edu) and at other schools and studios around the country. I have studied lampworking with Loren Stump, Sally Prasch, Lucio Bubbaco in Murano Italy and fusing with Bonnie Celeste at Bullseye Glass in Portland, OR.
I am a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers and The Glass Art Society.
More of my work can be seen at www.joycerooks.com and you can read a recent article about me in the April 2008 issue of Bead & Button Magazine.
