Bio

My mother began teaching me to sew when I was 8 years old. After 44 years I can safely say that I've been able to take it to new levels. I still do some garment design and construction, but I am happier when combining textiles with many other items to produce unique works of art.

My college career started a bit later than most peoples'. I began at 36 to work on a degree in the fine arts. I love to paint and draw but I am never happy with only one medium. Most of my 2D work is a combination of wet and dry media on any one of a wide variety of grounds.

I have recently fallen in love with mosaics. Any item is likely to fall prey and become tesserae in one of my pieces. One of my favorites is eggshell. I paint the shells with my own mix of enamels for a huge palet of colors. Currently, I am working on a book on the subject of eggshell mosaics.

Most of my work for sale is functional. You will find garments, furnishings, home decor and jewelry among my offerings.

Let me say something about shipping: Because many of my pieces are home furnishings and the mosaics make them very heavy, the shipping can run rather high. I do not ship large items outside of the 48 contiguous United States. I do charge only the actual cost of shipping and packaging. I would be happy to ship small items such as jewelry and childrens' apparel outside of the USA. For international sales, please contact me before purchasing.
