Hi there! My name is Erin Lang Norris and I recently moved to Madison, Wisconsin. I live in an apartment with my wonderful husband, Joe. We like to paint old furniture to make it new again and we also enjoy cooking together.

I have a love for all things handmade and design oriented, which is why I started Yellow Canoe.

What began as block printed key racks, journals and illustrated wall art is slowly evolving into something more...more items for the home, that is! Lots of new things on the way, including coat racks, block printed pillows, place mats, curtains, table runners, door mats, silk screen prints and more. I hope to release her first designs for the pillows this coming April. If you would like to be notified when they are available, please feel free to send a convo.

Before Yellow Canoe came along, I ran Operation Paper Cut where I sold (and still sells, kind of...) coptic bound journals and other paper goods. + All work is created in a smoke-free, pet-free atmosphere.

+ At this time, Yellow Canoe cannot accept any trades.

+ Payments: PLEASE WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE ABLE TO PAY BEFORE purchasing an item. Since this is my main source of income, I cannot afford to wait more than 24 hours for payments. I will send an invoice through paypal to your email account requesting payment after waiting 24 hours. If payment is not received within 24 hours of notification, I will relist the item you have purchased and will notify you of the canceled order.

+ All sizes of items listed are approximate. If you need exact item measurements, please send a convo indicating which item you are inquiring about.

+ Hanging: I HIGHLY SUGGEST PURCHASING SAWTOOTH WALL HANGERS FROM MY SHOP. The wall adhesive that is included with pieces used to adhere key racks/jewelry holders to the wall may cause damage to paint upon removal. This is to be expected with most wall hangings in general, whether it be nail holes, markings, etc, but the adhesive can be especially damaging upon removal. Yellow Canoe is not responsible for any damage that may occur. When removing a piece from the wall, it may be useful to use a butter knife to slowly peel adhesive away from the wall by sliding it between the wall and adhesive strip.


+ If you purchased your item prior to January 1, 2008 PLEASE refrain from washing your item with a wet cloth! Newer items have a protective finish on them- older items do not! I will not repair items that you have washed with a washcloth if it is an older piece that has smudged- people need to realize that you can't wash artwork! Sorry to be harsh, but it should be common sense.

+ Special Requests for an item- PLEASE be sure to convo me BEFORE purchasing an item if you have any special requests, so I can give you a definite answer beforehand.

+ SHIPPING: Please note that I do not profit from shipping charges. Most shipping prices you see includes insurance and delivery confirmation, pays for boxes and packaging tape and goes towards time waiting in line at the Post Office. These items are wooden and therefore can be quite heavy (most packages weigh over 1 lb 4 oz)I ship Priority when possible (when the amount I charged for shipping is sufficient for this option)and Parcel Post if the shipping cost we charged doesn't come close enough to the Priority Mail cost. You will notice that if you buy only one item, the shipping may seem high, but if you buy 2 items, the extra shipping is really quite low! Buy more and save! Orders are currently being shipped on Mondays and Thursdays. All orders over $30 will be insured and include delivery confirmation. PLEASE DO NOT ASK me to lie on customs forms. This is illegal.

Please note that we will issue a partial refund if we feel that we overcharged. This rarely happens, but if it does, you should get a partial refund within 4 days!
