Bio

My husband, Steve, and I live in Griffith, Indiana, located 20 miles south of Chicago. We have 2 daughters, Kara and Katie, both with their own husbands, one 6 year old grandson Jakob, and one grandchild on the way. We share our home with 2 dogs, Bea (this is where the name KARENBEA came from), and Shadow, and many assorted bird friends who live in our attached aviary. Among them are Costella (Amazon), 2 Greys (Isabel and Alex) 2 conures (Eddie and Max), Dusty the really old cockatiel, several parakeets and a pair of parrotlets. They are "free range" birdies. WHEW, that's a lot of bird poop! By day, I practice Oncology nursing in the in-patient setting at Community Hospital. By night, I am usually found at the torch in the workshop Steve just finished for me. I think I am right brained, because I really enjoy expressing my creativity! My favorite place to escape to is Ft Myers Florida, where Katie lives.
