Bio

i'm brandi lee and i paint a lot of weird creatures. i love trees, graffiti, pretty women and men, feminism, birds, body acceptance, spray paint drips and zines. usually, i try to mix these in my art work. the characters just come out of my head. sometimes, people inspire me on the trains and i get qualities off of them. sometimes the ideas come to me in dreams, in depressions or things i read. there is usually a story behind my characters. i try to paint on found objects. i think it's real important to evaluate all the trash around you. people throw out the craziest/coolest stuff! if i don't find the objects in the trash, i try to buy them in thrift stores. the buttons i make and some of the shirts aren't second hand though. i will always note that in the descriptions though, in case you only want to buy more environmental friendly stuff!

with each purchase, you will receive a free 4” x 4.5” art print postcard with a 1/6” border all around and a 3.75” x 6” art print postcard I made for a show I had at Art Gotham in NYC in April of 2007. Both were printed on high quality card stock.

I have been part of two group shows in Austin, Texas, two groups shows in NYC and have a painting showcased in a cafe in Austin, Texas.

I did Oh,Dear!, a vegan cooking zine for a few years. While I did that, I participated in the MonkeyWrench compilation zine. Now, I currently do Fat Grrrlz! a zine about being a hot fatty!
