Bio

I'm Olivia Caputo (aka Scampsville), a 28yr old Brisbane artist who creates original jewellery and crafts that reflect mischief and mystery. My definition of a 'scamp' is anyone who attempts to make their own fun in a world often hostile to creativity and imagination. My work subverts the conventions of ‘women’s work’ by introducing elements of waywardness and whimsy, while giving a respectful nod to the cute and cuddly history of crafting. I believe in a revolution at needle-point, not gun-point and often stitch with friends, weaving a community of scamp-sisters who are proud to be part of the DIY sinister craft rebellion. My other artistic endeavours include drawing, stencilling, knitting, and making jewellery from peculiar things.

I am a postgraduate student of feminist religion at the University of Queensland and a proud member of BrisStyle, an Etsy Street Team promoting Brisbane artists and crafters. On our blog you will find links to all our Etsy shops and updates on Brisbane markets!
