TheaCphotography's Profile

Bio

Thea is a self-taught photographer and jewelry designer. Her love and deep appreciation for nature and the beauty of her surroundings began as a child in the small town, artist community of Woodstock, NY. She has fond memories of picking wildflower bouquets in the spring, admiring the treetops and birds from the roof of her home in the summer, resting in knee high grass to gaze at the clouds and leaves in the fall, and venturing out to a white fairyland of snow on cold winter mornings.
All of these early loves still reside with her today, as is evident in her photographs and photo jewelry. “I love to capture the details and lines of flowers, treetops and birds. I get lost in the hazy, dreamy quality created by using two cameras—a vintage old Duaflex or Argus and my more modern Canon digital. Each ‘through the viewfinder’ photograph I take reminds me of pages found in an old storybook from my childhood.”
Every picture tells a story. Many of Thea’s photographs and jewelry are inspired by or reminiscent of a poem or story that is included with each piece, which she hopes deepens their meaning for others as well.
