operatic's Profile
Bio
I'm Nina Scott-Stoddart, an operatic mezzo soprano, opera producer, director and designer. I'm also a visual artist (my other Etsy identity is dangerousmezzo).
I wear a lot of costume jewellery on stage and for concert performances, and am always looking for very dramatic pieces. I started making jewellery to get very specific colours and looks for various costumes or gowns, and I thought it would be fun to explore a wider range of colours that I normally wear myself, which was the genesis of this Etsy shop.
Many of my pieces are made from frankly costume materials -- resin (a nicer word than plastic), glass and silver-toned findings are the norm for me. Some of my pieces also include freshwater pearls or semi precious stones, and I'm now working more and more with sterling silver, because it feels so lovely!
If you need a piece lengthened or shortened, or need a change of earwires (or, indeed, earrings converted to clip ons) I'm happy to do that at no extra cost. Just leave me a message to sender at checkout.
If you do need a change of earwires, I'm very happy to do that. Most changes (french hook to lever back, for example) are at no extra cost. Some (copper or brass to sterling) will cost more (unless otherwise stated in the listing) -- I have upgrades to ear wires listed in my shop.
I'm convo and trade friendly!
My work is also sold at The Warp and Woof gift store in beautiful Chester, Nova Scotia.
